Before You Leave

• Submit a change of address form to your local postoffice
• Change address with friends and relatives
• Change bank accounts and credit cards
• Change subscriptions (typically require notice two publications in advance)
• Cancel or move automatic payments

If moving to a different city:

• Transfer funds, arrange bank account if moving to a new city
• Cancel local monthly services:  newspapers, gym & club memberships, etc.
• Clear out and close safety deposit boxes
• Ask your doctor & dentist for referrals.  Transfer prescriptions.  Obtain medical records (or forms for new doctor to request).  Refill prescription medicines or have 30 days supply on hand.
• Notify insurance company of new location for coverage:  Life, Health, Dental, Auto, Umbrella
• Notify utility companies, secure refunds on any deposits
